Josie Coleman

I'm a Brisbane-based triple threat performer with a passion for dance, singing, and acting that's shaped my whole life. I've trained in dance since 2011 with All That Dance, building technique across ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, lyrical, and song and dance, and I hold examinations through the Royal Academy of Dance and the Asia Pacific Dance Association (including a teachers certificate). As a mezzo/alto, I bring a strong belt and mix along with solid sight-reading and ensemble skills, developed through years of study with Christine Bowden and Jacob Bradford, and my acting training with Penny Farrow and at the Queensland Academy of Excellence in Musical Theatre keeps me just as comfortable in dialogue as I am in song. My credits include leading and featured roles like Snoopy in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, the title role in Annie, Bet in Oliver, Grandmother in Moana, and Anna in Frozen, plus ensemble work for the Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols. I've served as Dance Captain at both Kelvin Grove State College and the Queensland Academy of Excellence in Musical Theatre, and I've been honoured with awards including Most Promising Junior and Senior Performer and the Song and Dance Championship at the Ipswich Eisteddfod. What makes me unique is how naturally I move between disciplines. I have worked extremely hard over the past years to work on my authenticity and my ability to just, be. This value has been hard to grasp, but now, it is the thing I take with me everywhere and carry at the forefront of my mind. I bring the same storytelling instinct to every role, whether I'm dancing, singing, or acting. Performing is what I love most, and I bring that passion to every stage I step on.
