Brendan Maclean

I'm Brendan Maclean, I am a 38 year old vocalist, showman and singer-songwriter with over 20 million streams for my original music and the proud recipient of an ARIA and AACTA award for my recordings in productions and films. My first taste of touring theatre came when Craig Ilot cast me in the original production of Velvet alongside Marcia Hines after finding my YouTube channel and dance heavy music videos. It toured for over three years nationally and abroad. Baz Luhrmann liked my work in the show enough to give me a solid cameo as Klipspringer in The Great Gatsby and ever since I have moved happily between original music, circus cabarets, tv and film. My main experience with musical theatre is playing the lead in Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde in the Hayes Theatre 2022 production which won the award for best musical direction under the watch of Steven Kramer. I would like to believe, considering the titular nature of the role, this shows I am quite capable at taking and actuating musical direction. I had a very decent run in 2025 with Tim Burton casting me as the lead player in his touring cabaret Wednesday Island and a role opposite Hugo Weaving in the beautiful feature film adaption of How To Make Gravy. My dream is to continue my journey into Musical theatre and one day write and compose my own production.
