About
Angelique is a dynamic and versatile performer, specialising in pole dance and burlesque. With a background in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, aerial lyra and acro. She began her professional career at the age of six, performing with The Janice Breen Showgroup in Carols in the Domain. Over the next seven years, she appeared in numerous high-profile productions, sharing the stage with the likes of Vanessa Amorosi and performing for the late Queen Elizabeth II. She continued her training at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and later completed a Certificate IV in Performing Arts at Brent Street Studios. Angelique spent four years performing as a dancer with Carnival Cruise Lines, where she fell in love with quick changes and character work. She also served as the cast’s seamstress — a role that sparked her love of costume creation and remains a big part of her process today. Back in Sydney, she went on to perform at Slide Lounge in shows like Risqué Revue, El Circo, and The Gin Mill Social, as well as in corporate events around Australia. In 2016, she featured in the spiegeltent show Spiegel’esque at the Italian Forum, performing in double pole and silks acts with Blue Phoenix (Chris Talbot), as well as aerial hoop and dance. The duo received glowing reviews: “Aerialists Angelique Brown and Chris Talbot… have an intensity and connection that makes them a joy to watch.” Angelique has also created and headlined her own works, including The Naughty List — a holiday-themed pole, burlesque, and dance show in 2022 — and a 20-minute French-themed production for the Bastille Festival in The Rocks in 2023, which featured aerial, burlesque, and cancan ensemble work. The show was also featured on The Morning Show. A passionate competitor and storyteller, Angelique has spent the last 4–5 years developing and refining her own original acts — ranging from dramatic narratives to comedic crowd-pleasers like her new "Dirty Olive" routine. She was the Pole Theatre Australia Pro Drama Winner in 2023, a Miss Pole Dance Australia Finalist in 2018, and has competed in the NSW heats in 2018, 2019, and 2023. Most recently, she won Exotic Generation Virtual Worlds in the Theatre category and Pole Theatre Sydney, Pro Art winner. Angelique is known for her stage charisma, bold character work, and fearless approach to storytelling through movement. She thrives on breaking the fourth wall, and she’s most in her element when she’s interacting with a crowd — playing, teasing, and pulling them into her world.
