Alice Williams

Bringing joy through performance is something I'm very passionate about, and I think making people feel seen and telling varied stories is such a huge part of that. This year, my final year studying musical theatre at WAAPA, I have performed in three very contrasting shows. Renascence, Guys and Dolls, and & Juliet are all drastically different in style, but I loved the challenge and reward of finding the real human stories in each piece. I've loved learning to swing ensemble tracks, and even covering the role of Juliet at the last minute - I learned the track within 24 hours and went on for three performances... a very exciting and challenging few days! A common thread between the different shows is the journey of a woman finding and claiming her own independence and strength, which is something I feel very passionate about. I also feel very connected to being a part of diverse casts, in works that tell diverse stories. Mostly, I just love making people smile (and laugh, if I'm funny that day), feel connected, and know that they're not alone. I think it's what the world needs now, more than ever!
